Pokébank is already confirmed for ORAS so you can easily transfer your Pokémon back and forth between them. I assume battlan and tradan will still be a thing too, so you can continue breeding in Kalos if you want.

The only complication would be new megas introduced in ORAS, but if they don't patch X/Y they could just make it so you cannot trade them to Kalos or use them in battles between these versions.
They made trading between R/B/Y and G/S/C work, and unlike X/Y and ORAS those are entirely different gens.

I think you'll be able to trade back and forth because I don't think you get the mega stones from X/Y in ORAS, and vice versa.

Also, I dislike the missing customization of the characters in ORAS so far.

Not if they don't patch the new megastones into XY. Which I really doubt they would since. That's a huge part of the new games and they want people to have reasons to buy it.

They don't really have to patch them in, just as far as to make them obtainable via trade from ORAS as the only way to get them to X/Y.
Which would be great, if ORAS wouldn't have the mega stones which exist in X/Y.

I never said outright "they won't do this". I said I doubt they would. It's clearly my own opinion. And i'm just thinking from a logical point of view. It would make sense to keep the megastones exclusive to ORAS so people will buy the games.

If there's only one obtainable, people would still buy the new games and GF could still patch XY to include the new megas. Or the coding is already included - mlatitwins were, so perhaps all planned megas for ORAS are as well. It's not impossible nor a bad idea as I doubt they'd drop support for XY entirely.
