Because it is boring that I need to carry these moves in my team all the time when they essentially just make the battle longer, by having me waste a few turns.

I have nothing against non-attacking strategies, but putting entry hazards is not a strategy, it's waiting a while before getting the actual strategy going.

how new are you to strategy games? not every strategy has to be executed immiediately

laying entry hazards also has its own strategy within itself anyway, like knowing when the best time to set them up is and playing around rapid spin/defog, etc

Seems like a great idea until your opponent predicts your final switch and sets up to +6 on you, then proceeds to crush your entire team because you couldn't stop it.

Not being able to switch freely would be bad game design and bad for competitive.

Or even a more easier example.

That's momentum.
