Flygon only has 520 total stats. Its been wrecked in the wake of Garchomp.

Flygon is a nice design.

Garchomp just has a much better design and blows it out of the water in every way.

Flygon is 'technically' faster at base stats. But he doesn't have the total points to outweigh Garchomp in anyway.

You're looking at Mega Garchomp. Mega Garchomp is slower than regular Garchomp.

I kind of think that it's only hope is a Mega or additions to its special side. It's Movepool is amazing and has a decent coverage. A move like Quiver Dance or Moonblast could help it to get through its mediocrity.

Goodra? They don't even have similar niches. Also, Swalot is shitty if compared. The only one that really outclasses it is Garbodor, which has hazards and more balanced defenses.

I wonder if Poison-type users will ever be good. Most of them that are good are only usable because of their second types.

That's true. Dragonite has much lower Speed than other psuedos but is still very good.

Psuedo legendaries tend to be better than regular Pokemon like Flygon. Garchomp got psuedo status and therefore outclasses Flygon so hard.

Don't fret, Flygonfag. For as a Garchompfag I've been looking to the positives. If Flygon doesn't get a Mega, it will still reign powerful in the lower tiers. If it does get a Mega, both Garchomp and Flygon can work together, side-by-side, and wreak havoc among OU.

I could see it going the special or special mixed route if it got a Mega. Maybe Dragon/Dark since it's based off an antlion, and they create traps to catch their prey.

Nigger, are you kidding? 520 is really good for a fully evolved Pokemon, on par with most starter Pokemon and higher than the likes of Scizor (500 BST) and Gengar (also 500 BST). What Flygon lacks is focus, the stats are too "evenly" distributed which causes it to not excel in any particular field.
