>>21227297As long as I can have an HM slave, I'm sure Flash mazes won't be as annoying.
>>21227204We go through the maze (I saw a Strength boulder so I know I have to go through it again), and find out we've been ambushed by Team Edgies. We fight them like last time, same composition except now they're at Lv. 16, and Dratini's Dragon Rage wipes the floor with them. They weren't very bright, either; Gengar used Curse when he was below 50% HP and was the last Pokémon left (which if I didn't know Jagold too well I'd say that was a good indication of his spiteful personality, but we all know it's just bad AI).
Gengar swears vengeance on us, and Absol warns us afterword that Gengar is going to be out for blood because he's fucked in the head and thought he was sincerely saving Caterpie when he was bullying him at the start of the game, and took it as Caterpie refusing him, I guess, I dunno.
We get to Mineral Field, and I'm told how beautiful it is, and the cutscene seems to have plenty of animations through the party; I don't actually know either of these things, though, because Jagold forgot to turn off the Flash maze effect. We get a looong cutscene of the party helping Caterpie find rare artifacts (the party didn't want to, but Caterpie gave his SPARKLY EYES from earlier and the party did it), and when we're done I'm compensated with a Nugget, Star Piece, and a Blue Shard, not that there's anything to spend those on when the shops only sell Berries and Max Revives (which are useless since you can heal every five steps).
Leaving, Caterpie tells us how there's a human who lives in who-gives-a-fuck, that his Mom is misanthropic, and that he knows I and Steve are humans because Gardevoir told him even though Gardevoir specifically said not to tell anyone, I'm actually slightly annoyed that Gardevoir would do that. Maybe me feeling emotions regarding this hack is a form of Stockholm Syndrome.
