Obviously Sceptile to complete the starter type trio even though Blaziken was more iconic.
Metagross would be pretty neat too, he has the moves but his body shape partnered with his size might be a bit too awkward to work around.

As for gen 5 I think either Axew or Haxorus would be pretty fitting and I see them as some of the most merchandising of that generation. Excadrill, Cofagrigus and Krookodile would fit in well too, although Cofagrigus would have to be a gimmick fighter with slow speed and long reach with its shadow hands. They could possibly even have something to do with him mummy ability and his final smash could be something along the lines of Trick Room for an extended period of time.

Darmanitan might be cool as well, when it reaches 50% it could go zen mode and have a moveset alteration, at least if transformations were still a thing.

How is it retarded? ORAS releases near the end of December so it's perfectly reasonable for it to look somewhat like a Christmas tree, plus, it mimics real-life defense tatics by lizards. Greninja doesn't really reflect a frog very well. It doesn't really croak or have those foamy bubbles like some frogs do not that's a bad thing or anything
