Those 50/50 offenses in Shield forme? They will never, ever be used by Aegislash. It's like it has base 150 Attack and Special Attack at all times.
As long as Aegislash hasn't attacked yet, it also keeps those 150/150 base defenses.
Since Aegislash is so slow, it will usually be taking a hit before dishing one out. Which is essentially the same as having 150/150/150/150 base offenses and defenses for that turn. And then it can either switch out or use King's Shield to get those defenses back before it attacks or is attacked again.
Basically, if you're smart and good at predicting, you will never actually end up taking a hit with Sword forme's base 50 defenses, and Shield forme's base 50 offenses only apply when Aegislash is confused or taking a Foul Play in defense mode.
