Met while exploring some cave nearby where it probably bites my leg or some shit because I keep messing with it. She ends up feeling a bit shitty for biting my leg and I feel shitty for messing around so we both sit down and feel shitty together and share a few apples.
Eventually I befriend her and make her my starter.

An old family Pokemon, owned by my grandpa. Decided to give it to me since sitting around an old quarry chasing off Pidgeotto and Raticate is no way for him to waste his days, so he gave him to me to go on a journey again.
Unfortunately it's pretty damn lazy and liked doing that in its quarry. It's nice, friendly, and protective, but it will only put in whatever effort it feels is necessary while battling. It also has a huge fear of poison types that it got while fighting in the Pokemon world equivalent of WW1, having to get people to high ground so they could get away from the mustard gas/Toxics from the enemy. It got caught in the trenches a few times during an attack.
Could possibly be a kleptomaniac since there's always jewelry store robberies when we go to a new town.

If they have any Pokemon on sale I'll probably just pick between one of them so I don't know which to name but a torchic would be cool.

I don't know what kind of personality it would have since I don't have it yet but I'd hope we can bond and that it wasn't aggressive because it being able to breathe fire would be an easy way to get hurt or go blind.
