Best way ti get shinys without the shiny charm is the friend safari. Supposedly its shiny rate is 1/512.

If you want to trade, just trade profitable pokemon like event legendarys. To get said event legendarys, just trade small and trade your way up until you get a event legendary.then use the pss and trade the profitable pokemon. Haggle until you get the shiny you want

If you don't care if someone else is listed on the pokemon's OT, you should try instacheck. There is no editing pokemon's stats, it just shows you the shiny value needed to hatch shiny and you trade it to some one who can hatch it shiny for you. You still have to breed your own eggs so technically everything is legal since they were all breed and hatched legit.

Are you prepared to spend more than 100 hours to get your shiny?

If so, then go on GTS and get a foreign mon of the kind you want, or ask for a ditto in the gen thread.

If you're not prepared to take 100 hours getting it then you should turn back now, as the odds are over 1/800 and most people go around 20 boxes before they get theirs. I've had hunts as quickly as 10 boxes, and as long as 80.

This also isn't a discouragement, it's just so you know what you're getting into.

I used poke gts before the wifi went down to get 6iv foreign dittos 1 for every nature. After that its just a matter of teaching egg moves, and breeding for your shiny via MM. It takes a while but if you persistent you will get your shiny.
this one took me 3 days and 500+ eggs. It has 5IV and 3 egg moves. If there is a faster way I would like to hear it.

I succeeded in hatching my first MM, a shiny Litwick with 4 IVs; HP, Defense, Spa and SpD. Modest, but not Infiltrator. My next project is probably gonna be Swirlix or Feebas.

WTing all these Litwick, I managed to get a shiny Eevee, Landorus and Riolu.

"X Boxes" is just a shorthand for X*30 eggs. You can't possibly have 41 boxes of Pokemon without using Bank. Hell, even having ~25 boxes of eggs is impossible if you didnt release pretty much everything youve ever caught before you got to the point where you can MM effectively. And moreso for Shiny Charm or even oval charm breeders, since you had to amass hundreds of 'mons (aka a dozen or so boxes) just to get those.

tl;dr, Just hatch eggs. Releasing things you dont want doesnt do anything besides maintain space and make you lose count (Unless you name your mons 1, 2 3 ... 81, 82 ... etc.)

The other parent wasn't 6 IVs but 5 at most, that's why. The knot only makes sure that the offspring has 5 stats copied from it's parents (any 5 of any 6 of either) so it probably copied the 5 IV parent's missing stat as the 5th and had the 6th generated as usual. That's why 6 and 5 iv parents can have 4 IV offsprings.
