That's not to say you never see full uber teams and minimize or OHKO shenanigans but even when that does come up it's honestly not all that bad. OHKO and evasion moves and swagger aren't banned because they are actually overpowered, they are banned because they can make the game potentially swingy or make it annoyingly prolonged for no reason.
At any rate, a lot of people on cartridge follow smogon rules, anyway.
