IVs are really dumb. They don't even make that much of a difference in stats, but going into a battle without perfect IVs puts you at a disadvantage. Also, literally no IVs aside from 31,30, and 0 are of any use. Natures and movesets and shit are enough uniqueness right there.

That said, it's easy enough to breed for perfect mons without resorting to incest if you have a 6IV Ditto. But IVs seem so pointless and just add to tedium.

Recently I got a german machop named "Mr. Universe" with 4 perfect ivs, Adamant nature and...Guts.

Okay /vp/ imagine this: 12 potions are added to the Battle Maison store (or I guess whatever it would be called in later gens.) Six of them would raise a corresponding stat's IV to 31, while the other six would lower it by 1 (to get the even values for HP.)

Oh and Wifi battles get a Battle Maison-like point system, so you can just battle online and eventually get enough for stuff like Ability Capsules and IV potions, and whatever items would be a good fit in there.

IV breeding for retards:
1) Port in some 6IV Ditto from Pearl/Black/etc
2) Slap a Destiny Knot on one of the parents
3) Chuck the happy couple in the day-care
4) Check the IVs of the hatchlings until you get what you want
5) Wonder Trade away the rejects so other people can enjoy them (if you're autistic about wasting Pokemon)
It's as simple as that. I also use 6IV Ditto in specific natures with Everstones on them to expedite the process.

It's not that it's hard, it's that it's time consuming and IVs add nothing to the game in the first place.

Retards still don't understand that incest in pokemon is not bad, neither inherently nor ethically, because:
1. pokemon born from incest have 0% chance of having a birth defect.

there are usually always 2 sides to play a game, competitively and casually, PvP PvE PvL for examples in most cases. The IV/Shiny Breeding are for those who to prefer to play the PvL/PvP side of pokemon while the other half play it casually. I personally play both sides, because its more to do and its rewarding on both ends.

btw PvL is my abbreviation for player vs loot, just talking about the people who play games just to collect the rarest things and only do quest/level related activites. In WoW these would be the people who only do professions and leveling for their characters.

this is my opinion from an unbiased point of view
