Mega-Typhlosion and I don't care how bad he'll be, he'll always be my favorite starter.
Sure, he's like... The worst starter in the game.
But he's the only starter I've had survive a nuzlocke in SS and I have a strong nostalgia with him for some reason, greater than with charmander.
The timid Typhlosion who had to watch all of his friends die over and over again. Probably the most traumatic fight was against a rocket member, amazingly enough. In SS I actually came across a THREATENING rocket member! Because he used a team of 1xWeezing, 5xKoffing that all knew self-destruct. All his friends died, and he survived.
So he went on, getting new friends, and eventually made it to the elite four. And in the end, all his friends died and it was him against Lance's Charizard, and due to my refusal to grind (No-grind clause; it is not permissible to bring any pokemon above the highest level pokemon on the team -1 outside of trainer battles though all non-revive items are permissible) there was no way he could beat a pokemon that outleveled and outmovesetted him. So, he had to resort to the only thing that could make it possible. Drugs. He got all hopped up on X and burned the charizard to death in spite for his dead comrades.
And he continued on, burning the gyms of Kanto, again relying on the drugs he had grown accustomed to because he couldn't best higher-level pokemon easily, especially as each new friend would die in some unfortunate crit. Eventually making it to finally battle Red. Outleveled, and weak, all his friends resorted to his own weakness, those drugs. But it wasn't enough, each of them eventually fell to an inevitable crit. One by one. Except him. In the end, it was him against a Lapras, and after striking the Lapras down to a sliver of life, it was only by the RNG gods that Lapras missed its final strike thanks to a single smokescreen, allowing him to best Red in the end.
