You know guys it's not always a contest of usefulness, sometimes it just a choice of favorites. Ill use Megadrill because I like Beedrill, I don't really mind if there are megas better or not.

In the case of megas it's actually only about usefulness because you can only use one at a time and you don't want to waste that slot by a Pokémon that's simply not good.

Wel usefulness does have a slight bit of importance when pokemon are this shit.
Like I really love Ledian, but it is so boring to use because of how terrbily weak it is.A Mega Evolution will only make it as good as a regula mediocre pokemon.

Defog mechanics weren't known until after ORAS came out.

Also, Mega Zards have a good 140ish BST over Beedrill, and Fire is a much, MUCH better offensive typing than Bug or Poison and all of zard's moves are higher in power (assuming Beedrill doesn't get Gunk Shot or Mega Horn.)

The idea that "I only get one mega so I better get the best possible!" isn't universal. People who are using Pokémon they like aren't going to give a shit. Otherwise everyone would have Mega-Gengar or Mega-Milf. In the end personal preference plays a factor for everyone.

Also, you can have more than one teams worth of Pokémon. It's not like you can only use one Mega your entire playthrough. Want to use another mega? Make another team or sub out the one you have.

Yeah, 200 attack supporting 80BP moves with a STAB combination that Steel shits all over, while Beedrill lacks any relevant coverage options to deal with steel types.

Unless it gets a big enough sp. atk boost to make a hp fire set viable, I really doubt it will get above RU. Out of NU for sure, but it's far from OU material, unless Beedrill got some other love we aren't aware of.
