Based on what? Have you really never lost a game simply because your opponent got lucky flinches, paras or burns on a key mon on your team you needed to deal with their threats? Moves that do those things are popular BECAUSE they can lead to wins.

most teams have more than one wincon you know, if all of them lose so easily to one threat then it means the rest of your team was too weak to that threat

Sometimes in order to get the sweep you need to get rid of certain pokemon on the opponent's team. If you lose the pokemon you need to do that sometimes you're fucked. That can easily happen because of an unlucky paralysis.

the singular here implies that you only have one partner capable of taking out things that stop your wincon, which is just bad teambuilding more than anything else. if you did have more than one partner but you let the other ones die, it means you just played them badly which isn't the RNGs fault.

maybe get a wincon immune to paralysis like excadrill if random paras are losing you that many games?

The amount of times crits have saved me from defensive boosts is probably more than half the times I've faced someone using defensive boosts.

The opponent is playing the same game as you. If they aren't countering your strats to protect your wincon then you shouldn't be playing someone so inferior. In a close game of multiple strategies and good teams running against one another, a single bad hax, will, and often changes the momentum of the game. A late hax can completely overturn a controlled victory march.
There's seriously no argument that can deny the affect of RNG on competitive.

I've had para hax get unusually bad while laddering compared to other hax. 2-3 full paras in a row, reduced speed, and much more common than freeze. Thankfully the perk to laddering is luck has a negligible effect on advancing in the long term.

I just recently got back into pokemon and don't do PvP. There was a time I legitimately forgot the frozen status existed despite having a poke with ice beam as lead. I of course remembered when I rant into a npc that also had ice beam.
