The retail store GAME has announced that their Spanish branch shall be distributing the Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire demo. We got word of this on Friday, but today they have announced that, like the UK, people can go to GAME and get the demo using the Nintendo Zone that is in stores from this Wednesday. It is limited to 20,000 codes received through this method so they shall go fast

So far we know only of an exclusive mega stone, although thatstone may be attainable by other means, it wouldn't make sense to make a big deal out of the demo then have the stone available normally. The mega pokemon being jirachi theory further supports this.

The Mega Stone will probably be "exclusive" in the same way that Blazikenite was exclusive. Everyone who didn't get it in the demo will probably have it released as a thing later or obtainable with connectivity to XY or something.

Plus the US is getting the game early so none of this really matters to me, I can probably find a decent playthrough on Youtube or twitch.

I personally blame Gamestop's incompetence for the US. They still have oras download date as 12/31 and don't have Fantasy Life in their system despite Nintendo announcing its release. My GS even refused to have a midnight release for Smash despite getting three times the needed preorder but are having a damn midnight party for fucking Borderlands. Not to mention that shitty poster and forcing normal events to be preorder bonuses.

Gamestop might just hate Nintendo.

Even though I used Best Buy when I got Sapphire, of all things, and found out that pre-ordering doesn't even reserve a fucking copy. It just means I've paid for it before actually buying it. The demo was released to everyone a week later though.

The exclusive smash demo was an apology to Platnium members last year because their rewards were fucking shit.

The only thing special about the Platnium Smash demo was unlimited plays which oras is already confirmed to have.

But the difference is Smash's core gameplay is designed to be played over and over. With this demo, you'll play through the story then all you'll have left is maybe to grind for your mega evolved pokemon that can be transfered. Obviously there's the play every day thing, but it's not gonna be some huge multiple quest thing adding loads of more playtime, it'll probably just be like the rocket taking off.

and who knows, maybe the city's been remade to the point where it has a few more extra things to do

I've also heard that the Spanish Official Nintendo Magazine is giving out codes too, but it's not out yet in my town.

does anyone know what the requirements are in order to receive an oras demo code from nintendo? they don't make themselves clear.. i've been a club nintendo member for well over 2 years now, and i've registered over 10 products. 2 were consoles, the rest were games.. got no smash code, so far, no oras code.
