A much better meter for its state would be the internet. And what the internet tells me is the same story my friends tell me: Even Greninja is more liked than Blaziken. Chicken didn't even reach #1 in its respective poll

I started on Gen III, and although i never disliked Blaziken (thoguh Swampert is my fave), i didn't see much love for it until Gen V introduced HA's. Just because i don't like something doesn't mean it isn't popular, the inverse is also true. Maybe i just didn't follow it properly, but i never actually saw Blaziken be REALLY popular
