So /vp/, lately I've been getting my sister into the Pokemon games. Right now she's sitting through Crystal version halfway through Kanto, however, soon enough she'll be moving onto the generation 4, 5, and 6 games. Up to this point I've been letting her play romhacks that don't really change the game or make it difficult, just allowing all Pokemon to be available. My question about this is if I should change this for the fourth and fifth gen games? I own both a R4 and the original cartridges of the game and I'm debating on which to let her play. On one hand she could play a version of Platinum where she wouldn't need to trade to get her Machoke or whatever to evolve, on the other hand I feel like that's part of the Pokemon experience.

TL;DR: Should I keep my sister playing romhacks to make sure she can evolve her Pokemon, or should I let her play the original games and have her trade with me to get her Pokemon to evolve?
