Primal fossils would be cool. Like ater replacing rock on the Hoenn pair, Dark replacing rock on Tyrantrum, Grass on Aurorus, bug on Kabutops, Steel on Omastar, Ground Bastiodon, Dragon Archeops, Steel Carracosta,and Rampardos being pure rock still.

It would be cooler to see Tyrantrum getting something aside from dark. It seems more like the Fire type to counter its weakness to ice and so it can rampage across the countryside (and absolutely murder Aurorus' grass/ice and Bastiodon's steel.)

Quagsire, Fortress, Sneasle, and... Lanturn?

Are there any other notable Gen 2 pokes? Maybe Tauros and Miltank each get one but man there aren't a lot of Gen 2 mons to choose from that need a mega.

Mega Skarm would be a fucking nightmare, as would MBliss. MGliscor would be either less effective than the regular version or else complete and total bullshit.

As much as Ariados and especially Ledian need megas, I don't see them getting upgrades. Beedrill and Butterfree probably cover wimpy bugs for at least until the Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Mamoswine and Yanmega would good candidates for Megas, though I would doubt the latter sees any attention for a while. M-Mamoswine would be interesting though I'm not sure if it needs the attention as much as other ice types.

Shiftry has appeared in waaaay too much media for it to not get one. I'd like to think that means Ludicolo, but it probably doesn't.
Lunatone and Solrock would be cool. Psychic/Fairy with auto Misty Terrain and Psychic/Fire with Drought would rid them of their shitty rock typings (though Solrock does like the STAB) and make for an interesting battle with Tate and Liza.
Who knows. I have a lot of Pokemon that I'd want to see get a regular evolution before getting a mega (like Chimecho, most Pikaclones and Ariados) but who knows.
I want Seismitoad, Scraggy, Darmanitan, Musharna and Leavanny to get megas but they all seem pretty unlikely.

You're missing the point.

After the attention that Hoenn has had in X/Y, and the Hoenn re-makes, they're not gonna' be focusing on Hoenn mons at all after OR/AS drops.

Like how there's been next to no attention to Unova, with only 1 Mega so far this entire Generation. Well chances are, Hoenn and Unova are about to switch places.
