Ah, sorry, misread.

Dunno, any number of crazy, programming reasons. We don't really know how early this demo was made in the design process, or what was cut out but other stuff left in. Or even if there ARE going to be any more unrevealed Megas. This is only the second set of games with Megas, and remakes at that. We've got no real pattern to even speculate on.

Have the people that cracked the demo bothered to look for every Mega revealed so far in the demo's data?

If they can spot every revealed Mega thus far PLUS mega Hoopa, then I think we can come to the conclusion that we are done with Mega releases, as far as ORAS goes.

If they can't find all of the Mega evolutions (maybe due to the fact that this is just a demo, may be messy in terms of data and what not), then there still may be hope.

The processing of "forking" in code is pretty simple and I find it hard to believe any modern developer wouldn't know how to fork their codebase whenever they wanted to....

But you probably would never "fork" 6 months before your demo, because you probably want all bug fixes and latest code revisions in your demo. So it's very likely the demo contains all "static" data the final game will contain. Nobody is going to waste man hours obfuscating references to that shit on the off chance the demo gets data-dumped.

It looks like all the mega were revealed.
It's supremely disheartening to see no new abilities. Ugh.

I'd like to see if any new move tutors came or new base stat changes to non-megas, but considering how m-beedrils stats are, I highly doubt most pokemon got any boosts.

With 110 base speed and adamant, it only need 16 speed EVs to outrun Scarf Keldeo at +2. So that's 240 free HP EVs. With 150 base Def:

That's pretty bulk.

Though conversely:

Why in world would GF reveal every mega before release? No company ever reveals everything about a game before its release, especially GameFreak.

Besides, the demo already has things removed; It's not like they just flipped a switch to put it in demo mode. They clearly expended the effort of removing things, so why leave in one of the biggest secrets of all but take out the rest?(Other than reducing filesize)

Calling it now:
Hoopa is the 10 day gift for the demo.
This way, it adds incentive to buy the game, otherwise you have a useless hoopa in a game demo.

It's a good idea and highly possible but it's still speculation. Yes, companies may have a small leak that generates hype, similar to adding Trevenant and Furfrou in the trailers as quick snippets, but it's unfair to assume all leaks are intentional. It's pretty obvious that Korea fucked up. IGN fucked up revealing Pyroar early, too.

There is apparently still more to the demo than we gave it credit for, as a nugget item was just found. But releasing Hoopa's demo when Hoopa hasn't even been announced is pretty stupid, which is why I'm skeptical.

75/110/105 bulk and Dragon/Fairy will make it seriously good as a wallmon. You've also got 117/130/140 BP STAB moves to use; it actually hits harder than Mega Dos.

What's so hard about switching out against priority? They knocked it out of the park with M-Beedrill. Free switch him in, predict a switch to a priority user, and hit whoever it is with a 140 BP U-turn coming off a base 150 attack. I can't wait to use this guy. There's like 27 missing spots right where all the new Mega Stones are listed at the bottom of the list. Albeit about 6 or 7 we DO know about from being confirmed by Game Freak trailers are missing. Hints isn't the same thing as release. It's just as possible that Hoopa was meant to be the gift and they left in its mega/form/whatever it is to avoid the game crashing or just forgot about it.
