Personally, I'm happy with Mega Pidgeot even though it's definitely a mixed bag. The utter lack of new moves is painful, but they pretty much aced the stats without minmaxing as hard as Beedrill, and the kiddos will want to use Fly on Pidge even with No Guard. It really is shockingly similar to Tornadus-T, which is slightly concerning because Torn doesn't use a Mega slot, has more moves, and better survivability with Regenerator. That said, I think the perfect accuracy of Hurricane really is a big help, and may be enough to differentiate them. There will be competition, but if the overall performance of Tornadus-T is any indication (banned from RU, considered a decent B+ in both UU and OU), Mega Pidgeot will be perfectly viable if you want to use it. It has a unique gimmick, Heat Wave is back, you can always fiddle around with Roost, Work Up, and U-turn, and it looks mighty fine. Especially that shiny. Overall, it turned out stronger than I thought it would, just not as great as it could've been. Maybe it'll pick up some moves another day.

>>21332186 I've seen you around tonight Pidgebro and I share your excitement.
I feel pretty alone with the M-Camerupt hype though. Big fan of doubles and I can see this baby tearing a new hole in everything while under trick room. I still think the +20 in attack could have gone to its defences, but 100 def/105 sp.def is nothing to scoff at. 145 + Sheer Force and Heat Wave/Earth Power/Flash Cannon is going to make sure everyone is aware of it's presence on the battle field.
Overall, I'm happy that my Mega Bro is going to have some spotlight too. Maxie is one lucky guy.

>>21332230 I really like how instead of making every mega min/maxed, they set niches for each one. M-Camerupt is the quintessential trick room team mega.
Anonymous
>>21332230 I was always neutral about it, but I'm fucking impressed by Camerupt. Trick Room is definitely the path to victory, but it's got enough bulk, enough power, and a good suite of Sheer Force moves to put in work.
Us "ok" Mega bros gotta stick together. The obvious, top-tier powerhouses are fun and all but it's nice to see old, weaker mons get the boost and actually turn out acceptable. They don't need to be the best option, so long as they are a viable option. Makes me happy.

What I really like about these Megas as that basically none of them seem completely useless and most of them have a unique, defined niche. Glalie looks a bit lackluster, but still has Refrigerate Return and explosion. The starters turned out fairly solid. Altaria has no extreme stat but is incredibly versatile thanks to it's movepool, type, and well-rounded build. Pidgeot is very similar to Tornadus-T but gets full-accuracy Hurricane. Overall not too bad. Not sure about Audino, though.

>>21335722 I just wish there was a little something more to make it different/better than Tornadus. I think my biggest concern right now is that he simply won't stand out enough to avoid being "outclassed".
I've seen a lot of people posting "non new moves, still route 1 trash" and being disappointed in the lack of movepool upgrades, but I don't think they realize that while it could've been greater it's still pretty good. It'll definitely be capable of putting in work.

>>21335805 Look at it this way.
Don't think "Damn, it sucks that Pidgeot didn't get Focus Blast/Blizzard/Thunder/Sing/Boomburst, that would have made it better in OU"
Realize that "Pidgeot is looking pretty similar to Tornadus-T, let's see how it distinguishes itself" is a huge fucking upgrade for the original bird. Tornadus-T is a good fucking Pokemon. It's banned from RU and effective in UU AND OU. If Pidgeot is looking at all similar, it is solid. Perfectly accurate Hurricane with those stats is sweet, Heat Wave means its coverage isn't totally doomed, and then you have Hidden Power, Roost, and U-turn to round it all out. Hell, go for Feather Dance if you wanna be crazy. Even if it does end up slightly outclassed, Pidgeot is good now. Don't stress about what could've been, be thankful that you can actually use Pidgeot competitively now.
Anonymous
>pidgeot >ym94 >rock smash likely to be an hm again what could it beeee
Anonymous
>>21336116 Asking for a single move isn't too much. It could have easily been far better. That's the issue. Pidgeot existed at least a decade before Tornadus. It's been on many childhood pokemon teams. It deserved better.

Can someone do some calculations for Mega Steelix (or tell me how to do them myself)? I use its normal form all the time as my stealth-rocker. Sand Force seems like a stupid ability, I sort of wish it had Filter or something like Mega Aggron does. It wasn't made to be an offensive poke. Maybe Autotomize? Idk.
Anonymous
>>21333909 Beedrill moveset:
Fellstinger

???
Anonymous
>>21337753 Pair it with Tyranitar.
Sand Force works with rock, steel and ground type attacks, giving them a 30% boost.
Steelix gets stab on 2 of those for an extra 50%. Also, those three type have near perfect coverage. With an adamant nature, it can put a serious dent in things with that 125 attack. EQ has 195 power during a sandstorm. Iron Head becomes 156 and Stone Edge becomes 130.
It's gonna be slow as fuck, but whatever. It's got great bulk and defensive typing. Throw evs in attack and hp.
