Enough speed to outspeed base 115s after evolving, ice punch for landorus-t and gliscor and a healing wish or encore to support its sweeper teammates. Has all the coverage it needs with just 3 moves, very little besides dedicated walls who resist HJK like clef and slowbro want to switch into this monster.

Beastly resttalk tank for sand teams, pair it up with something like specially bulky like AV azumarill to sponge fire/water/fighting moves and squash everything with your slams. Steelix is so ridiculously bulky and strong it makes regirock look like hoppip in comparison.

Pixilate Return hits harder than X-zard Dragon Claw, and it has Dragon Dance

Fire Blast and Earthquake as coverage.

Can use Dragon STAB I guess

Equal attack stats mean it can do something like mixed (roost+3 attacks maybe) or special all out attacker

Decent bulk, very good defensive typing and reliable recovery

Excellent defensive synergy with nearly any steel type cause it forms two parts of Drag/Fae/Steel core on its own.

If you can't think of a good set for it you should quit pokemon

Charizard X has better mixed stats, and Dragon Dance too, it doesn't matter that Return Pixilate hits harder

It also has Fire Blast and Earthquake, plus Flare Blitz and Thunder Punch

For dragon STAB it has both Dragon Claw and Outrage

Better equal attack stats and a 30% boost to contact moves, Roost AND Will-O-Wisp which absolutely wrecks physical attackers, can Altaria do that? Nope, it can also be an all out special attacker thanks to better stats and Focus Blast

Decent bulk too, reliable recovery

Dragon/Fire are excellent STABs that leave you with 3 weaknesses and 5 resists, it's why Reshiram got attention back in gen 5

M-Altaria is inferior to Charizard X, and it will get even more improvements in later gens thanks to being a fan favorite, Mega Altaria is an underwhelming mega

Will probably relocate some speed to HP once we know what it needs to outspeed at 0, but for now this looks pretty good to me

Defensive M-Altaria sets will be great, but of course no one on /vp/ uses defensive teams so they just see base 110 offenses and go LEL SHIT. I've already ran the calcs, it beats most S-ranked pokemon, checks every dragon, both zard forms, it checks three of the current four best wall-breaking megas, Thhundy and electrics in general, it has way too much power for the average offensive pokemon to safely switch in, and it pairs extremely well with Jirachi or Ferrothorn or whatever.

Saying it's inferior to X-zard, who is weak to rocks, EQ, doesn't resist Dark, FIghting or Water, and has lower special bulk, is dumb as shit.
