We don't know that. Battle facility data is stored separately...so it's really no surprise that nothing was found in the demo.

They could've just renamed the island. You know how the Sinnoh Battle Frontier was the "Battle Zone"? Would make sense, if they were attempting to weed out confusion...Also, the S.S. Tidal still exists.

We're going somewhere. We don't know where, yet.

Battle Resort isn't the new Battle Frontier, it's a facility that can be accessed before finishing the game, it has 5 facilities which basically are the same as the Battle Maison/Battle Tower.
Battle Frontier is still there, however it will be called Atlantis Frontier. It will be accessible via Sea Mauville after defeating the Elite 4. It is not visible in the Hoenn map since it's actually hidden underwater.
