I can't see Signal Beam doing much for it, since STAB fire hits Grass and Dazzling Gleam deals with Dark-types. Shock Wave is weak, but gives Delphox additional coverage against water. It's looking good for the fox mage.

I used a mixed wall support Delphox that was fun. Foul play will be a nice addition to support fox.

Foul play allows Delphox to run defensive EVs and still have good damage output. Will-o-wisp lowers the opponents attack but it does not effect foul plays damage since it goes off your status effect and not the opponents.

At least it has new moves to work with other than...3/4 moves.

It's not perfect but it's something workable. (Kinda like Mega Pidgeot.)

I've had good luck running Support Delphox, lets see if I can make it go offense.

Alright dumbasses, Chesnaught is pretty decent and plenty viable (it's ranked B in OU if you care about that,) and I'm going to explain why:

>as a defensive grass type, it differentiates itself with Dark and Ground resists (as opposed to Venusaur and Ferrothorn) as well as a very good scouting move in Spiky Shield. Over Ferrothorn, it has a STAB with better coverage, as well as Synthesis but most sets don't use Synthesis. Over Venusaur, it has Spikes
>as a defensive grass type, it gets leech seed, which is probably the third (below reliable recovery and Will-O-Wisp) best defensive move. It's easier for a wall to switch in to a seeded opponent, it wears down the opposing team, it's really just a good move
>Spiky Shield is a pretty good scouting move, and the threat of it alone makes your opponent do screwy things like boost in front of something that's behind a sub. Sets like SubSeed+2 attacks can take advantage of this (its offensive movepool is actually pretty good)
>Spikes are generally a mediocre move, but they're good on a defensive wall (the only reason you don't see them often on Ferro and Skarm is because Stealth Rock is just better.) Having a sturdy spikes setter gives you an advantage against stall
>as far as "what it checks" goes, it does very well against sand teams (Excadrill, T-Tar,) is the single best MegaGyara check, it checks Bisharp, ground types in general (Garchomp, LandT, Diggersby) Swift Swim Kabutops, Terrakion, Crawdaunt, and some other stuff
