Special Greninja's advantage is the higher base power of its moves. Now that it has Gunk Shot, though, this is less of a factor. Poison is a great defensive type, too, and combined with Ice Punch and Night Slash/Shadow Sneak both of Poison's weaknesses are covered.

Lifelong Poison fag here and you couldn't be more wrong.

Earthquake is given to over 1/3rd of pokemon. And another several dozen learn Psychic. Greninja isn't bulky as fuck either.

After all, if the other guy has either Florges or Sylveon, it's likely going to be their initial switch in.

Talonflame still outspeeds and Brave Bird can ohko if it is a banded set. Only way Greninja does anything to Talonflame is if they are running an Adamant set so you outspeed with Water Shuriken.

You can move a few EVs from SAtk to Atk if you want. Sadly, you need 200 Atk to OHKO Clefable after rocks (and if it is Magic Guard instead of Unaware, you're doomed anyway)

Low Kick also fucks with Kyurem-B and Ferrothorn, who otherwise give you problems.
