I actually got that first one at only 125 eggs, and its only been two more boxes since then, so I'm nowhere near done.
As for why, I really love the black velvet look of Shiny Hawlucha. It's got a really unique, crisp, and cool palette to it. Nothing else really comes close to it, which is a little odd.
My first shiny project was Tentacruel way back in DP. Got two in about 780~ eggs. I'd done several radar shinies before then though. Being this was way back when MM first became A Thing, it was practically impossible to get good IVs/Natures on them, but I still have them hanging around.
My bro is Scizor, who's about as good as it's always been. I actually decided to do the same thing, and have 7 Japanese Hexaflawless mons that cover all the breeding groups now. Considering that one of them was the father of this Hawlucha I got in 125 eggs... well. It's just one data point. But I will say that these "Japanese" mons from a US cart in every way look like they're from a Japanese game.
