The Mobile Center is where players of Japanese Crystal could manage their online profiles as well as some other things for use with the Pokémon Mobile System GB. It's accessed from the MOBILE option in the title screen menu.

What is? The theme itself or the mention that it's the real one? Because there is a "fake" Hall of Origin in the game's code, which is the one you manage to access with tweaking AKA void glitch.

Yes.

I once asked Masuda on Twitter how he was inspired to write the theme, and he said it was based on the concept of light waves. I didn't understand what he meant until I realized that the ascending/descending note patterns form a kind of oscillating "wave". It's also funny to note that Suicine has streaming, wavy bands emanating from its body.

but for me it's the perfect combination between the low "flute sounds" that transmit a very calm and "zone above everything" mood, and the shriek sounds, which seem to tell that something awful and "out of this world" is going to happen
it gives me the most sensation of "something is off but I'm not sure what" that anything has given me

Not really a surprise. The whole of Team Galaxy (Galaxy Gang in Japan) is inspired by Pulseman's Galaxy Gang.

It's just Game Freak reusing their own ideas 12 years later. Much like the sumo wrestler sprite from Quinty/Mendel Palace (their first game ever, released in 1989/1990 for the Famicom/NES) being in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire with a different color palette.

It does. The reason why Yellow isn't canon is because it was released as a special Pikachu edition in Japan and overseas, based on the anime and released two years after the original pair (Red and Green) and their solitary version (Blue) so that Game Freak could buy time to finish Gold and Silver, which were originally meant to be released as Pocket Monsters 2: Gold & Silver in March 1998 but only came out in November 1999. Yellow was released on September 12, 1998 in Japan.

Like the original Japanese Pocket Monsters' Stadium, it was just to promote Pokémon further and on the N64 before Game Freak put an end to it with Gold and Silver (not Crystal).

The original plans eventually changed, of course. But Pokémon Crystal was an afterthought from the changed plans.

Does anyone find it bizarre how Staryu can communicate by radio signals too? I wish Pokemon did a spinoff that just focused on lore for older fans, some of this stuff is really interesting to me. Even in newer games they do some great stuff but I'm sure they don't get into it too much because it's a kids game. (Absyal Ruins and N is a good example.)

I think I miss the online from PMD: Explorers the most. It always felt nice saving other players and giving them some Reviver Seeds so they have a shot at making it through, and I'll never get to experience that again.

That's what I mean, you can't just use your original games (unless you have an AR), while on the Wii, if you have homebrew (there's no reason not to these days, given how easy and safe it is now that Nintendo has no way to put any new anti-homebrew since the Wii's discontinued), can easy just be patched with Riivolution to run online while you can still use your game discs.

You could get the printer error song without the printer if I remember correctly. I remember trying some glitch in Crystal which only worked in GS (I was bored and want to see what happened), and it fucked one of my Pokemon up. I think once you got past the wall of glitchy text, it would show some some error screen and that music would play. Or at least I believe that music would play, it sounds incredibly familiar. I would go and double check, but I released the Pokemon and my brother sold my Crystal without telling me while I was away for the summer a few years ago ;_;

That was my reaction to it as well. I'm so glad they didn't forget about it, it was a neat little song. They did a pretty damn good job remixing it too.
