Given that the rom for fucking bw2 is half a gig, do you really think 256 more mb are going to consist entirely of maps, character models, and music? The music uses an internal sequencer and the entirety of the music in the game is probably comparable in size to about as many MIDI files, if not smaller, for one.

Considering what happened with X and Y and them being fully aware of it I'm sure they weren't dumb enough to do the same mistake in the demo.

For everyone confirming there are no more mega's you guys shouldn't be so sure. If they released every Mega before the game came out it will derail the hype train. They need to keep some sort of hype going especially since this game is a remake and they never sell as well. With the addition of new Mega's they are hoping to change that.

Easy. XY had around 30. All of these 18 megas were revealed before the games release. There are many, many Hoenn Pokemon that didn't get a mega, and likely won't for a long time, if ever.

Why wouldn't you be at least a little ticked? Unless you hate the concept of megas, there is zero reason to accept this. I am still holding out hope that there's more left, though.

I don't mind the lack of new megas. Eighteen is a good number for a game in the same gen. I'd be pretty ticked off if they're leaving out the battle frontier only to bring it back as a selling point for Z, though.

Coro Coro said the Pokémon found in Hoenn would be different. I very much doubt they were talking about new evos (which you won't find in the wild anyway) or post-game additions outside the regional dex. They wouldn't have even said anything if that were the case.

BW2 showed that there is no problem rearranging the dex, so why go back to a old format?
Besides nearly all new dexes try to have the numbers match the time you meet them. An add-on part at the end of the dex would completely fuck over that.

It's a demo, it's strange it had even this much info on it, but we already know it doesn't have everything anyway.

Demo is only like 200 MB from the sound of things, and by standard the full game should be at least five times that side if not more. Some say "No, surely everything was on the demo", even if we incorporate models and maps though there's still an assload more content that should fit on there.

For the 100th time, the demo is 250 MB because they removed graphics and audio, not Pokemon data.

It's possible there will be some new Pokemon/encounters in the full game, but even if there were 100 new Megas it would only add a few MB to the game.

Here's what happened - Feel free to cap this.

They fucked up and leaked everything prior to the release date by not scrubbing the excess data from the demo.
The marketing team is pissed off, now - because the shit they were planning to use to further hype the game prior to release won't have the same effect.

SO - prior to release, they have to design and toss in about 5 extra megas that will effectively bump the hype levels back to what they need.
Expect some of the most blatantly pandering megas to be revealed over the coming weeks.

I wish I could believe this, but after the technical disaster that was X and Y plus their refusal to patch X and Y, making a game unusable after only 13 months, mid generation, I don't believe they will deliver any more. I'm still hyped as fuck for ORAS purely because I love RSE and seeing Hoenn in the new 3D engine will be incredible.
But I do not trust GF to deliver on going above and beyond any longer.
