>>21366303There was a LOT of technical stuff that had to be done for XY. Basically a whole new engine, models and animations for 720 pokemon, updated cries, movelists, all that jazz. Then there's pokemon amie and all the work for it, the PSS, super training.
XY's story took a hit, but the game is chock full of all kinds of new features and overall improvements to the gameplay. You can very literally have an entire party of fully competitive pokemon, IV bred, and EV trained whipped up from scratch in about an hour. While Black 2 is much better in the story an postgame department, the convenience that XY has brought places it very high in my books.
I've been saying this a long time now. XY is basically the foundation that needed to be laid down, so it's a bit bare bones when it comes to story and postgame adventures because of it.
However, mark these words. Because of this foundation, ORAS, and ESPECIALLY Z/X2/Y2 are gonna be the SHIT.
