Its Defense isn't that much higher than regular Steelix, and unlike Aggron it doesn't have Filter to protect it. Hell, Tauros' Fire Blast can 2HKO it with Spikes support.

Are you fucking retarded? A mega will drop Slowbro and somehow Gyarados will stop it? Good luck with those Crunches on 95/180 physical bulk. This thing sets up a single CM and it now has good enough special bulk to eat a shit ton of hits and 130 special attack at +1. Nothing outside of Toxic stalling can possibly stop this fuck if it sets up, and even then it will tear through most stallers.

This is the one thing more broken than Salamence here.

Your entire list is shit.

There's no way Gallade is going to be RU. Just compare it to Mega Medicham, who's already OU: it's weaker (249 base attack is hard to compete with) but not terribly so, and in exchange it's faster, bulkier, has an excellent movepool. The ability sucks but it got a very good stat spread.

Altaria is also way too good for RU. OU is the most reasonable prediction.
Salamence is going uber, not BL
Slowbro is already OU...

People shouldn't kid themselves, a large majority of these megas are going to be OU and UU. The only megas in RU right now are Obama (hilariously bad typing and no speed) and Banette (mechanically flawed.) Steelix, Pidgeot and Glalie are the only ones I can see possibly going to RU, everything else will be higher.

Beedrill is min/maxed as shit

Moving his Sp.Atk into his Atk and ONLY boosting Speed and Atk with his mega bonus seems too deliberate for Pokemon, and especially for a shitmon.

His power and speed practically doubled, plus Adaptability gives him the effective highest attacking stat on that list.

I dunno, wasn't a large part of the power creep caused by the Megas, though? And that's pretty much because they all get +100 BST. Unless they change that I get the feeling Gen VII will be more horizontal expansion than gen VI was, at the very least.

All the actual gen 6 Pokemon have pretty "reasonable" stats. There's only so much they can do when they're limiting how high the BST on a "typical" mon gets. I mean yeah you have Greninja and Noivern with really high speed, but Greninja is appropriately fast since ninja theme and all, and Noivern is fast like most of the bat mons...and not really overpowered in any way even with that.

Rayquaza's probably the apex of how ridiculously powerful Megas will get until they create Super Mega Evolution or whatever in gen IX.

There is no reason to use Mega Latios over regular Latios with a Life Orb. The latter does more damage and doesn't take up your Mega slot, allowing you to run, say, Mega Charizard X with Latios as Defog support.

Also, most of these lists have Sceptiple in UU, when you'll switch in your Chansey to take it on, only for it to Swords Dance and shit you up.

Its one weakness is going to be priority, because other than that, this thing won't be easy to stop, as you cant be so sure of what it wants to run. Scarfers too, but that's what those are for.

As a physical attacker, its Return is outdamaged by Mamoswine and Weavile, while having shittier stats.

One thing I really hate about Diancie is that Diamond Storm is physical. Why? It doesn't "feel" physical at all, it's not throwing/shooting crystals, they're materializing out of nowhere so that's more like Power Gem.

u wot m8? Regular Metagross is already UU. M-Metagross will be bulkier and now also outspeeds everything up to Terrakion. Jolly M-Metagross also hits roughly as hard as Adamant LO Metagross (only around 1% difference in contact moves). It has excellent coverage and STAB priority too. It will definitely be BL / OU, just like I put in the picture.

I remember this being said about practically every single Mega before XY were released and look where we are now. M-Latios is bulkier and can effectively run mixed sets, so it will definitely be high tier OU at worst, considering that regular Latios is already S rank in OU.

LO Latios only does 3 or 4% more damage than Mega Latios and there's rarely ever going to be a time when that tiny difference is going to make you lose out on an important OHKO or 2HKO. Normal Latios will still be used more since it doesn't take up a mega so but if your team doesn't already have a mega then there's no reason not to just slap Mega Latios on to your team since the slightly better defenses, reduced Knock Off, and no Life Orb recoil is better in the long run than just 3 or 4% more damage.

It's not about picking something better, but rather about the thing in question being good enough to do what you want to use it for. You won't use Cryogonal in OU because there are far better spinners, its typing is shit, among other things, but I wouldn't straight up put up competition for Metagross yet. The megaslot goes for only one thing, but it's less about picking the OP shit like Charizard, formerly Mawile, but rather about finding what your team wants. If you want an ensured spin, you get a Blastoise, if you want a solid pivot, you get a Manectric, if you want a wall that never dies, you get the Venusaur.

Steelix will be RU. It's a strictly worse Aggron. Camerupt also has almost zero chance of reaching UU since it's super slow and has a weakness to one of the most prominent types in UU. That set can't even beat Greninja reliably, and creates a 50-50. If Greninja Dark Pulses, you OHKO with Meteor Mash, but if Greninja Hydro Pumps, only Zen Headbutt can OHKO, and you know what happens if it chose to Dark Pulse and you chose the latter. You could say Thunder Punch, but then it actually chose to HP Fire, but you have Earthquake which only works if he chose this one.

It's overly complicated, but it's more or less a 50 50.

Salamence is broke

Slowbro is on the edge of freaking good/broke

Metagross is freaking good but probably not broke

Swampert will be great. Good Rain sweeper, and Rain is already a very powerful archetype. Not quite as powerful as LO Kabu but it checks electrics and is insanely bulky+only one weakness, meaning hard to RK

Altaria's typing makes up for the only decent bulk, and high BP moves for its low offenses. Will be very common on defensive/bulky offense

Lopunny is like Manectric: no hope of breaking through walls, but will be a good anti-offense poke tho mega man has better SE coverage. Large support movepool is a plus, Healing Wish is really a good move that's hard to fit in a team sans Latias.

Sceptile is even more similar to Manec. High speed and can OHKO a lot of offensive pokes. Better special movepool would be nice tho.

Gallade got an great stat spread, I'll have to go back in the /vp/ archive when its ability was announced and collect all the "LEL RU TRASH CAN'T BE SAVED" posts so they can be laughed at. It shares a lot of move with Garde (obviously) so it has a lot of neat tricks, e.g. fast Destiny Bond, and also has a ton of power+Swords Dance.

Diancie is being criminally overlooked, its offenses are incredible and its base form is very bulky, so you can do some stuff like holding off on m-evo if you want to check tflame or something.

Sharpedo can get speed boost in base form and then try to sweep. Could be cool alt. to Swampert on rain.

Glalie is trash (low speed, low bulk) but Explosion is hilarious.
Audino is not so good but is significantly better than people give it credit for. It has a huge movepool and insane bulk, but is really just too passive
Steelix, again, underrated but not so good, Sand Force Gyro Ball is really powerful I guess.
Beedrill is trash, low BP moves means it's not as strong as people think (e.g. Gallade CC is stronger,) it's super frail (and has 75 spe. for one turn) and as a U-Turn spammer it's weak to pebbles.

There are tons of other dudes that can defog as it does, and as a Hurricane spammer there are a lot of other mons that do the job better as well (Tornadus-T comes to mind).

Sableye is really weird, I think it'll be one of those megas that requires finesse. Prankster is really good but then it gets a lot of bulk and can stall break as mega form. Keep non-mega for vs. offense (and go mega after you burn some stuff,) mega for vs. defense. This is one I'd want to use before talking much about it.

Pidgeot could be good but Focus Blast really would have improved it, it has a whopping one move to abuse with No Guard which is dumb (Heat Wave doesn't count it's 95% acc already.) Flying is a really good STAB and Flying/Fire is decent enough coverage, but it doesn't have much to handle electrics. Fast defog is cool but Latis are really hard to compete with as offensive defoggers.

Camerupt could be cool on TR but TR Isn't really good, and in doubles there's mega maw anyway but Camperupt has a spread move. I feel I'd need to use this one to judge it but I don't expect much.

Slowbro will stay strong and might just be the new hotness for stall. Steelix and Sceptile are NU, so I highly doubt they'll stay in their current tiers.

I dunno about something fairly bulky with a Scarf, as it could potentially take one what it gets thrown at, but finding something really bulky that can survive two turns of Sceptile isn't that easy. Either from +2 Outrage, or something from the special side, there aren't that many things that can truly challenge it. I guess, from OU, Venusaur does a good job, Skarmory for the physical side, Mandibuzz. And then from UU I dunno, but Aggron doesn't enjoy Focus Blast, aside of actually hitting the thing twice, which you can confirm anyway with HP Fire after the first one hits, but as all that's being said right now, it depends on movesets.

Not him, but Venusaur has never enjoyed getting burnt by Scald. That said, with a 252/252+ sp def spread, at +1, offensive Venusaur Giga Drain fails to 2HKO. Defensive Venusaur can't 2HKO even if it's Bold 252 instead.

You could say there's no point in putting EVs onto the Sp Def, but I dunno about that yet. Mega Slowbro's Defense is already obscene as it is. I guess it does make it so that you can't ever die to physical attacks, and you can Calm Mind freely, like Suicune does, but Suicune's defenses are even from the start.

The set that seems the most interesting to me is the CroBro set:

Slowbro @ Slowbroite (or whatever the Mega Stone is called)
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

-Calm Mind

If the opponent has something with Taunt, set up with the help of Oblivious before Mega Evolving. Rest off all status and slowly kill everything with Scald and burn damage. Just remember to get rid of opposing Water Absorb Mons.

Its bulk isn't good enough to ensure it a turn to set up, and without a boost it really won't be doing much damage even with 165 base attack since its STAB options are weak or have significant drawbacks. It will be A+ in viability for sure, but it has no chance of being kicked to BL.

And Medicham can't take a hit. Medicham's strength is that it has an absurd amount of attack without needing to boost. It's like the difference between a mon that has Recover vs. a mon that has Regenerator. One is passive and doesn't cost turns, the other sounds great on paper but is harder to use in practice. Gallade won't scare much out and has crap speed turn 1, which means it has very little opportunity to set up an SD without getting a massive chunk of HP taken off.

If I could compare Gallade to any other mega in UU, it would be Absol. Absol has paper thin defenses and requires an SD to effectively sweep. This means it need to scare something out, either by locking their status moves down and threatening them with a still-powerful Sucker Punch or by threatening to cripple them with a strong Knock Off. However, notice the fact that Absol gets a strong STAB Sucker Punch. This means it has a way to prevent revenge kills. The best Gallade can do is switch out of potential revenge kills or leave them with a non-STAB Shadow Sneak before dropping like a rock. Note that Shadow Sneak gives Gallade a severe case of 4MSS.

The only variation I see being viable is a Bulk Up/Drain Punch set, which will have a decent niche but won't be anywhere near as good as SD/CC/Knock Off/Psycho Cut or Zen Headbutt, maybe dropping psychic STAB for Shadow Sneak. EQ is a nearly worthless coverage move in UU, Stone Edge doesn't hit anything worthwhile, and the punches are godawful.

Keep in mind I've never said Gallade will be anything lower than A+ in viability. I don't think it will be banned for a myriad of reasons, but it will still be decent. If Gallade were dropped into the current UU with the movepool we know it has right now I still wouldn't use it over Lucario.

EQ is useful against aegi if you don't want to make risky CC on king's shield then knock off predictions and ice punch is pretty good to kill 4x ice weak dragons. the other 2 punches can be useful for x4 coverage purposes as well and skarmory.
Also, w/ lucario's piss poor bulk not even it's superior typing prevents it from taking a neutral stab hit from most mons w/out losing a lot of health or fainting straight up.

Is there really any point of using Meteor Miss over Iron Head now that the base power has been lowered to 90? To compare people always use Waterfall over Aqua Tail and that can be easily compared to MM/IH since both have the same power and acc. Also Iron Head has a 30% flinch rate which goes great with Metagross's 110 speed.

Altaria has a great typing, but it basically has the stats of Mespirit, without the ability to carry an item. It'll have to run Dragon Dance to do any real damage. It'll be good, I just don't see it in OU.

Think of this way: Life Orb Raichu and Mega Manectric do around the same damage with Thunderbolt.

The Latis are basically Soul Dew Latis on steroids, of course they'll be uber. Mega Sableye will sadly not be as good as regular Sableye. Beedrill has base 150 attack, adaptability, and is ridiculously fast. Sceptile is crazy fast and crazy stronk, but not as much as Beedrill - still, being a perfect counter to the washing machine is likely reason enough to chill in OU for a while.

Actually, it is. Medicham and a few others started off in UU, and their mega stones were banned while the Pokemon themselves remained usable in UU. Then, when they rose to OU, their mega forms were still listed as BL because Showdown counted them as separate Pokemon.

That's because they never changed it. Mega Sableye would only become BL2 if it dropped to RU (base form Sableye was manually banned from RU, just an FYI) and its mega stone then got banned.

Mega Medicham was OU because its base form was OU by usage, its BL stats was a quirk because they never went back and changed it.

It's just too middle of the road for me. Bulky, but not extremely so. It has Heal Bell to support its teammates, but it can only heal itself, with Roost. Its Draco Meteor will sting, but it's no wallbreaker. Mega Altaria's a way better Pokemon than Miltank, but Miltank fell out of favor in NU for the same reasons.

Altaria's stats are misleading. Its bulk, typing, and movepool together with Pixilate allow it to fill a variety of niches in high level play; note that Mega Altaria's Return outmuscles Azumarill's Play Rough by something like 20%. Return + Earthquake makes Dragon Dance sets viable, although the superior Mega Altaria builds will probably take more clerical roles.

Both of them look better than M-Glalie, at least to me. GL doing anything to Escavalier that isn't dying horribly. Or Doublade, for that matter. Or basically anything with decent Physical bulk

Why Salamence to Uber?
I agree it's fast now, but Aerilate doesn't seem that big addition, and the lack of Life Orb or Tough Claws makes him inferior to regular salamence or Charizard-X, that also has Fire STAB.
