I'm trying to figure out how to use m-gallade when m-medicham exists. With the former you trade get better bulk and speed at the cost of power and fake out. Would the old bulk up set work? It feels like a waste of that speed and I don't know if non-STAB shadow sneak is good enough.

One problem with this little gimmick is that Kangaskhan still outspeed Gallade on the first turn, so if it decides to go in for the damage, you are dead. And even without Parental Bond, the thing does a ton.

It'd have to be paired with an appropriate teammate in doubles to account for that. 80 points invested in defense is enough for Gallade to survive a Return from Mega Mom. If you could pair it with a 'mon who is also a threat to Mega Mom but could also heal. Maybe Slowbro/Slowking? Hell, maybe even a Gardevoir. It can hold its own without being a mega and also put some doubt in the opponent because they don't know which one you're going to Mega evolve.

Being able to outspeed things is far more reliable and easy to achieve. Speed tiers are extremely important, it's why a lot of people run speed on even very slow things like Mawile and Azumarill. Investing in bulk is fine but having 0 spe is dumb.

Oh, and investing in bulk has a sort of "diminishing returns" effect, in that if you're turning an OHKO into a 2HKO with a small investment in bulk, there's no way you're turning it into a 3HKO

Speed, however, is always useful.
