Let's assume Generation II was the last Pokemon game, as it was intended to be.
You get called to make a new Pokemon game. The thing is, there are no more Pokemon. All Pokemon have been found, and it's 251 only... unless you could somehow explain that there are some new evolutions that needed items that had never been created or made (or they were in some unexplored part of Johto or Kanto, like the bottom of the ocean or underground in Mt. Silver, etc.)
The point is... you need to make a new region using essentially only the Pokemon from 2nd gen and 1st gen. What do you do?
Examples of questions to consider... Which mechanics do you keep or change? What would your starters be? Do you add new moves? Would your region be connected to the older regions? Answer this however you'd like.
