Blastoise: 8/10 (a little bland, but, badass)
Venusaur: 9/10

Typhlosion: 8/10 (a bit bland but, badass)
Feraligatr: 9/10 (pretty badass)
Meganium: 7/10 (sorta bland, but, cute)

Blaziken: 7/10
Swampert: 8.5/10 (it's cute and stronk)
Sceptile: 8.5/10 (not as vivid as pre-evo, but, still cool)

Infernape: 8/10
Empoleon: 9/10
Torterra: 9/10

Emboar: 7.5/10 (eh, sumo pig is kinda cool
Samurott: 8/10 (samurai otter is kinda cool, but, m-muh bipedal)
Serperior: 7.5/10 (nice and regal)

Delphox: 7.5/10 (it's really just the ears and model)
Greninja: 9/10 (cute and badass)
Chesnaught: 9/10 (cute and badass)

Overall, most starters are pretty good. Even Gen 5's starters were somewhat likable, despite their trashy stats

>Serperior 8/10, perfect combination of regal, snooty and elegance, which goes well for a snake-mon. The banana peels on its head and “shoulders” are a bit awkward though and make it look less sleek. Its Fleur patterns are nice as well.

>Delphox 2/10, THEY FUCKED UP. The ear tufts are awful in their 3-spike-chunk interration, the “robe” is awkward and it lacks and bulk but doesn’t look sleek or swift. Very awkward looking, doesn’t look like a “grown-up” starter at all.

I personally just hate its design. Gen 1 was filled with the very basic of basic designs but Charizard tops most of them.
Its horns are just nubs, its pot-bellied and bottom heavy, its wings have a bunch of weird joints in them, it has rolls of fat all over it, it has a flame on its tail, probably to show its fire type in a way that reeks of "after-thought".
Its constant pandering doesn't help, but its mostly just its ass design that I dislike.

What's wrong with that? If you talk about plain designs Typhlosion and Meganium are even simpler drawn. Samurott looks like a turd, I'm 100% sure that they forgot what its design was based of in the first place when they created this shit. Serperior is fucking ugly too. All three Kanto starters are fatasses who in the real world wouldn't handle a fight against other animals. Feraligatr, too, is horribly awkward. Empoleon has a goddamn fork beak. Torterra is a clever and well-designed nod to mythology, as are Infernape and Emboar. Delphox is great, I don't see what everybody is always bitching about, and Chesnaught is clearly the superior Starter compared to Tongue-Scarf Ninjafrog.
