RS removed features from GSC, which DP brought back (or at least tried). Gen IV gave the Physical/Special split. We got day/night back. DP actually had animations in the primary games of the generation. DP had limited water routes, which are shit and you know it. DP had a villainous team that was a flat-out cult, and Cyrus was an evil fucking monster, which was an interesting change from Giovanni's "Just business" mentality, Team Rocket Admins and their lost "Waaah we want Giovanni," and Archie and Maxie's misguided environmentalism. PokeNav was garbage, only nearly saved by having Match Call in Emerald, but the Poketch (while lower tech graphically) had infinite possibilities that could be programmed by anybody and added as apps, rather than requiring people to pop open the back and void the warranty with a goddamn screwdriver, to let you have new things. And that's not even to mention the new Pokemon, best PokeGirl, best rival, one of the best Champions, and a region that made me feel like I was going on a real, proper adventure. Oh, and the goddamn Underground.
Please, Anon, tell me what Diamond and Pearl ruined, because I would love to hear this.
