The gym challenge was kind of my baby, but I think it shouldn't come back like it was before.

The double elimination tournament was always a lot of fun, and its simplicity means we could have one any time we wanted, but they tend to take a long, long time to complete. Not everyone has weeks on end to play wifi matches, and time zones always get in the way.

Instead, what if we had a more open and less structured mono-type wifi metagame? Everyone would use mono teams, you could battle anyone at any time, and we'd still use most of the same rules and regulations. There just wouldn't be any gym leaders anymore.

Just add someone's friend code, use the thread to matchmake, and enjoy something a bit more interesting than your average bog standard battles. No long-term commitment, no mandatory tripcodes, no circle jerk. Just show up with a team and have fun.
