No, it actually works for Pumpkaboo. Gourgeist contains fire inside it, therefore it should be Ghost/Fire or Grass/Fire.

Unlike Heatran, Volcanion is weak to rocks and can't set them itself.

It's got a better offensive movepool and typing, along with a more useful ability and (statistically) better defensive typing.

They're like two sides of a coin, they'll probably end up with pretty neck and neck usage.

Ground, Rock and Electric weaknesses and its average speed pretty much cripple volcanion. It gets outsped by so many Pokemon in OU and can't even hit most of them with super effective damage.
But it might still make it to OU or at least BL2.
