Also, the screen flickering I might have been able to get replaced by HP since it's likely their fault. The issue is that I decided to check the problem myself, assuming a cable had come unseated. Turns out the cable was just fine, but the screen itself was shoddy. I did manage to clean out some dirt between it and the glass while I was in there though...
BUT THEN THIS TINY LITTLE GOD DAMN SCREW.. this insignificant little piece of metal had a bit of adhesive on it from a label I had removed, so somehow it stuck to part of the casing whilst I put the assembly back together and managed to jab into the glass, putting a tiny crack in it, yet breaking touch capability entirely.
