Here's a really quick lesson:
a revenge killer is something that can't switch in safely to something, but is able to beat it 1v1 either by outspeeding and OHKOing, tanking a hit and OHKOing, etc. Revenge killing something is easy.
a check is something that can switch in to *most* of the commonly ran moves of the target, but not all of them, and can then subsequently beat it 1v1
a counter is something that can switch into *every* commonly ran move of something and then beat it.
Mawile is not a counter. It's not even really a check because what can it actually switch in to without getting KOed the next turn by Fire Blast/Earthquake? It's a revenge killer at best, and a really shitty one too.
