shit guys. give me the best possible spread for Dragonite to wreck ANY team.

I've tried loads of items: Lum, WP, Choices and even fucking Dragon Fang. I can't seem to find the perfect item for Dragonite.

also, staples for his moveset? Iron Head for those fairies, surely, right? Espeed, Outrage and DDance?

Holding a lum berry. That and banded are the two most common sets, and they preform very well.

Specially after a DDance or two

Iron tail is the steel move it can get but the other sets would work a bit better.

The WP set has meteoric potential but it's pretty unreliable against any decent player, and really vulnerable to phazing moves, especially dragon tail

Weakness Policy is the only answer. Invest a little in bulk so you'll outlive a switch enough to take advantage of MS.

It depends on the rest of your team. Even if you build the whole team around it there's still a lot of options and you have to take unpredictability into account as well (which is also tied to the community you play with).

It's not optimal at all but I use

Dragonite@Leftovers
+Atk-Spe, 0 Spe
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Waterfall
Extremespeed

The reason being my team is based around Trick Room M-Mawile so Dragonite acts as its "protector". Leftovers to shrug off NVE fire attacks, waterfall+eq to make sure I get rid of pesky fire and ground types even if they are redundant. I know I could use Roost but it a TR team every round counts.

People rarely run Weakness Policy anymore. It's all about the Lum, since Greninja's everywhere and OHKOs with LO Ice Beam.

I'm trying out a defensive Dragonite to moderate success, with T-wave and Roost (playing around with Rest sometimes). It's pretty effective in cartridge wifi battles, but on Showdown the overwhelming prevalence of Lando-T and Rotom-W neuters it.
