I really wish people would stop mangling the meanings of "objective" and "subjective." You say they were the "most well polished." I sure as hell saw none of that.
Honestly, Gen 5's overworld sprites felt like a downgrade from Gen 4. Had they waited for the 3DS, it would have been a marked visual improvement. But they were forcing this shit through a tube too narrow for their vision, and it fucking showed.
Also the majority of the new Pokemon were terrible, and didn't warrant making a whole region purely of new mons, many of which were just ripoffs of earlier gens (Alomomola might as well be the evolution of Luvdisc, Emboar is "What if we made Infernape a pig?"). Unova was nothing but a goddamn circle (Kalos had a circular setup, but at least you frequented the central city a few times in your looping).
I miss the Sinnoh Underground. There, I said it. I liked digging for fossils, Evolutionary Stones, revives, etc.
The Wi-Fi Plaza is probably the most fun I've had in an online feature in a Pokemon game, and I've wanted something more like that in a game since.
But hey, maybe that's just my subjective opinion.
