I really love Luvdisc; it's one of my favorite pokemon. Can anyone give me advice on using her competitively?

Just a baton pass chain. Max all the stats and pass them to luvdisc, luvdisc have a life orb for added damage.

Its really simple but still a gimmick, dont gonna work many times.
And if you get all that boosts, you can baton pass them to something stronger and it gonna sweep just like that (probably better)

Your best bet is Toxic/Sweet Kiss/Attract/Substitute. Incapacitate the opponent and hope they can't hit you. Toxic can be replaced with Scald, if you want, or Sweet Kiss with Swagger.

Besides that, you could slap a Choice Specs on it and hope to damage something in the rain, or hope that ORAS gives it something, anything.

Assuming you're going Mega, Prankster Taunt/Destiny Bond/Will-o-Wisp is pretty much your primary purpose. I suppose you could try an all-out attacking set with Knock Off/Shadow Claw etc but your options are pretty limited.

If you're using regular Banette, well... I don't know what to tell you.

I actually faced a guy in battlespot that had a Luvdisc, this was in doubles. The moves it used were Entrainment, Charm, Hydro Pump, and i think the last slot had Rain Dance. It was fairly fast, using Entrainment on key pokemons one turn, while using Charm the next turn. I actually let it live around 3 turn thinking it wasn't going to do anything since the guy started off using Rain Dance.

I suppose you could run something similar, investing on HP and then spread the rest in either def/spdef or speed, though it's pretty face in rain with swift swim. You could use it as an oddball support in a rain team.

Use protect or a sub on the first turn if you are worried about the toxic orb not activating in time, (Protect > Sub because of its lacking speed). You could also have a generic follow me pokemon to soak up some damage for it, while it uses facade.

I would suggest looking into NU - Even there it's going to do badly, but it's not going to have to compete with things like Salamence so it should be easier to make it work

My two biggest bros are Feraligatr and Chesnaught

I already have an Impish 31/31/31/x/31/31 Spikes/Synthesis/Belly Drum Chesnaught bred. Any UU or OU sets for Feraligatr that would compliment Chesnaught at all? Both Torrent and Sheer Force varieties (Torrent in case my hunch is wrong. Sheer Force because I suspect that the Johto starters will have hidden abilities since they were the starters most paired with Hoenn starters)

OP here -- Dedenne also became one of my favorites from Kalos. If anything, to answer your question, Luvdisc is far more likely to receive something from ORAS than Dedenne...
I think Luvdisc is a really awkward Pokemon (while it is one of my favorites) and it's so stationary and generally a weak 'mon too.

Would be nice if Luvdisc got something beneficial out of ORAS, we'll have to wait and see..

I personally recommend an attract build in rain.. could work sometimes.

Nature: Timid
-Safeguard
-Swagger / Scald / Entrainment
-Heal Pulse
-Water Sport / Protect

Intended for Doubles. Safeguard protects your team from Thunder Wave and WoW spam. Swagger in case you want to be annoying, Scald for burning. Any other damaging move is pointless. Water Sport reduces the power of Heat Wave and Fire Blast from Mons like Char Y, Salamence, and Tyranitar, while Heal Pulse can keep some of your other Mons alive a little longer. Entrainment can remove dangerous Abilities from Mons like M-Kanga.

Set #2: Annoying Fish
Luvdisc @ Leftovers / Bright Powder
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Speed
-Substitute
-Swagger
-Attract / Psych Up
-Scald / Flail / Waterfall

Luvdisc's best shot at being an offensive Pokemon. Set up Sub and try to keep it up with Swagger hax. Attract for even more hax and Scald for burning. You can also steal your opponent's Attack boosts with Psych Up and try to sweep with Flail when your health has dropped thanks to Substitute (use Bright Powder with this because Leftovers reduces the power of Flail) or spam mighty powerful STAB Waterfalls if you prefer that.

Set #3: Rain "sweeper"
Luvdisc @ Life Orb / Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Hidden Power Grass
-Rain Dance (if Life Orb) / Surf (if Specs and some other Pokemon gives you rain support)

Top lel. You can one-shot some Mons with a double weakness to Water but that's pretty much it.

I don't know the EV' Spread but I guess is something in the lines about 244 HP, between 172 and 190 for Attack and the rest in defenses.

You know, throw some hits, Priority Rest before getting killed and hit with a priority Sleep Talk, rinse and repeat. It was interesting.

1. Luvdisc has INCREDIBLY LOW STATS, and a VERY SHALLOW MOVEPOOL. It also has MONOTYPING which makes it's weaknesses INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS.

I *suppose* if you could somehow baton pass 6 defensive boosts onto one and switch in, you MIGHT be able to stand up to a LC team long enough to get one hydro pump off.

I bred vespiquen because she is a sis, but I just can't get her to work. Even toxic orb + facade is really weak. Other than that I have her with attack order, heal order, and aerial ace I think. She just doesn't work on my team and I have a pretty big bug weakness. If I can't use her, what's a good replacement? If I can use her, what can I do?

Only use it as a guideline though, the point of smogon is giving a standard advice so you know how said pokémon works and when you get used to it start modifying its spread to fit your playstyle.

Its slow and very frail, needs batton pass support (I have a Scolipede).
Its the moveset/nature/Evs ok?

I was thinking something like:

or even a mixed set (maxed Atk and SpA?) with charge beam+ice beam/flamethower, headbutt and Return

Fuck Return. Just use Coil so you can boost yourself and then heal off the damage with Roost. Speed dont matter when everything's Paralyzed and not attacking anyway because of Flinch.

the problem is that, i cant paralyze and boost without taking a good chunk of damage. Then spam roost for just not die. And again, speed isnt a problem because i have a batton passer (and can pass Sword Dance/Iron Defense)

Set up Rain, use Protect and Dive to avoid damage, Sweet Kiss when you can to confuse and buy more leftovers recovery time.

Really poor but that's how I use it when I'm messing around, you can put some extra EVs into Speed but after Swift Swim you're going to outrun most things.
