>>21439146I was really hyped for ORAS, but screwing around with the demo just made me realize how almost all of the corocoro hype was centered around just single Pokemon (the Megas). They really didn't improve the engine even a little bit, and they put up a coat of paint that makes you imagine the game looking better if you arn't observant (like the more lively backgrounds when you go into battle with Team Flare/Aqua etc, but those are just 2D drawings, not actual improvements to the graphics).
They didn't really allow us to experience any of the things they actually revamped for these remakes, which pretty much just consists of redone Contests and Pokemon Flying (unless you count those cutscenes as flying). The redone teams are nice, but let's be honest- it's not like we can't get that sort of thing from any random romhack. I guess they redid the story too, but obviously that wouldn't be in a demo.
I mean, I think the games will be fine and all, it's Pokemon so you know exactly what you're getting. I just have no idea what I was so hyped about after screwing around with the demo for a little bit.
