It's kind of usable with calm mind. It has magic bounce so you can't status it or stop it from setting up.

It has nice mixed bulk and decent power after a couple cms. Not OU material, but not horrible either.

How so? Immune to status, roar, and taunt (slowbro needs to sacrifice regenerator to be taunt immune or run rest to deal with status), 3 immunities, only one weakness, will-o-wisp for guaranteed burn.

It has less physical bulk and a worse stab, but reliable burn and guaranteed setup eases that a bit.

They have slightly different roles anyway. You can't really compare them like that.

It's a CM setup set to abuse magic guard. w-o-w and recover stall beats things dark pulse doesn't hit hard.

After a couple cms dark pulse is surprisingly alright for only having base 85 spa. It's a tank, it isn't meant to ohko things anyway.

Run calcs. 125def with max investment and 115 spdef with cm boosts make it pretty bulky.

Like, it's not taking specs/banded damage from top ou threats or anything, but it will do really well in UU.

It can't even break through special walls at +6.
Not to mention 50 hp is shit even with 125 defense(especially without left overs). Garchomp is 17% bulkier than it.
You need to wait until your enemies physical fire types, special walls, and decently powerful special attackers are all out.
Its just not bulky enough or strong enough specially to work.

And you can easily Recover all dmg recived next turn. This can be stopped only by likes of Darmanitan/Charixard, powerful mixed attackers have a shot too. [and fairies]
