There isn't really another pokemon that symbolises raw power and fucking people up and combines familiarity with a SSB-friendly body shape like mewtwo.
I mean greninja and lucario have their ninja and aura aspects to take advantage of, while also being familiar and well-promoted (though I was surprised by the decision to add greninja).
Machamp or gengar would have been reasonable additions
