So what does /vp/ think about Mega Altaria? I'm not sure how effective it's going to be in battle.

When you have seven resistances, six of them really common, that's not too much of an issue.

Another plus would be that it synergizes well with most steel types, cause it's forming two parts of FDS by itself.

It's a little underwhelming, but it's not bad.

Pixelate return hits hard despite having only base 110 attack. With the right support it can do alright as a DD setup sweeper.

It's pretty much the best mega you can run on defensive teams, aside from M-Slowbro maybe but M-Slowbro doesn't offer particularly much over its base form.

It's really good, much better than people give it credit for.

Mega Altaria has 75/110/105 base defenses.
Mega Venusaur also known as Yggdrasil, the undying world tree has 80/123/120 base defenses.
Considering the blessings of its Dragon/Fairy typing, Mega Altaria is pretty damn bulky. Recall that Mega Altaria is typically hitting harder than the stout seed thanks to the higher BP of its preferred moves/higher Attack stat to spam EQ coverage from, and that, unlike Venusaur it can actually do something about status. I like it as a very good option for a Stall Mega in addition to being a fantastic bulky sweeper.
