In this case, the sucker punch Pokemon can safely sucker punch out the DB until there is none left for both. Just as well, if Banette were to run out the sucker punch first it would have to use one of its infamous status moves, to which a Pokemon like Spiritomb could use other attacks to save the punch to continue to drain out DB until Banette has to attack or use status.
Long story short, DB works decently against Spiritomb, but it's all mind games for running out of PP. And Spiritomb can easily drain PP with Sucker Punch. But only few can DB well.
