in the beginning of the ORAS hype, some people thought that the games may not be remakes, but sequels
although it turned out this thoughts were shit, let's pretend these people would have been right. what kind of changes would you like to see in the region of Hoenn ~5 years after RSE/GSC in the timeline?

mauville city has been renovated and is now inside a giant building with many facilities such as a food court inside.

It has also expanded its territory, with there being a sea mauville now.

With the introduction of mega evolution from Kalos, there has been a change in contest rules to allow them in, furthermore various stones in Hoenn have been discovered to have been really megastones. A small hand of people starts using mega evolution.

Secret bases have become hugely popular in Hoenn, drawing in people from all over the world and increasing the amount of furniture for it and things to do in it.

Kyogre and Groudon's battles shifted the lands around creating more islands, specifically one below route 129.

The battle between Groudon and Kyogre was felt by legendaries all over the world, with many now haven taken up residence in the skies of Hoenn, waiting for an especially powerful trainer to beat them.

The battle frontier has undergone major changes, getting rid of most facilities due to Scott moving to Sinnoh/Johto and is renamed the Battle Resort.

I like this idea. In Sapphire 2 cities like Lilycove have flooded, routes with large bodies of water (like the river running through Route 119) have also flooded due to the heavier rainfall, maybe the desert has an oasis now. In Ruby 2 Lavaridge has been covered in magma due to a volcanic eruption (like Cinnabar in gen 2), the desert has expanded, the first half of Route 124 you actually have to walk on a portion of seafloor before reaching the sea.

I just have this feeling that Meteor Falls would have had more areas to explore.

New Mauville would have been expanded.

Mauville Game Corner would have been closed down (no surprise).

Verdanturf would have had many tourists due to the Rusturf Tunnel being open and that fresh air.

I've thought about this sort of thing a lot since the B2W2 reveal and though the main idea I crafted was for an Emerald 2 scenario I guess it can go in this thread anyway. I'll keep it brief so as not to be too autistic.

I really like these ideas, having a vastly different yet similar region would be pretty cool.

Who knows what the future may bring. Perhaps down the track we will get ORAS squeals? A little part of me likes to stay hopeful.
