There is a way to get a dialogue choice that says "Take me someplace secret!"

Selecting it basically gets you an alternate version of the first mission in which you fight alongside May.

It is not a myth, there have been screenshots, and the text for it has been datamined out of the demo. A French person claimed they got it by soft-resetting the demo (L+R+Select) until the option was available, and they supplied a screenshot as well.
