>All regions
At the start of the game, you choose a region to start in, and it can be any of the previous games or the current game. You choose from that region's starters, and basically play a remade version of that game, which has only the pokemon exclusive to that region.
After you beat that region, you are told there are other regions, and must choose another to travel to. You then play through that region, which has the pokemon that gen introduced mixed with the gen in which you started. This repeats until you've beaten every region.
Level scaling will be done so that you're not just at level one hundred the whole game. Though you'll be at level 100 for the entirety of the last region.
>2v2 Combo attacks
Certain moves, when used by partnered pokemon in a team battle, will combine to make a new more devastating attack. Hydropump+Thunder would, for example, make an immensely powerful Laser like attack, super effective against anything that either water or elecric would be super effective against, and with a higher base damage of either of the two original attacks.
>Anime Mode
An extra game type you can do after you've beaten every region and sufficiently many side quests. This is a second save file where you follow the journey Ash did, with the ability to make some changes (Maybe you and Misty don't split up after Johto. Maybe you evolve Pikachu. Maybe you actually catch a legendary).
