Every rock, ground, and steel type makes mining a whole lot easier, for one. Also the disposal of leftover rock and dirt, as they tend to be terravores. Air travel was achieved a lot earlier too, and involved a saddle. However, at the same time pokemon kept the world small, because having actual sea serpents in the water would likely make travel harder for a longer period of time than it was for our world.

Boats are used as boats in the Pokeworld. SS Anne comes to mind.
One thing I liked to think about was how weird it is that they have these super variable technology levels in the pokemon world. Like, there's no cars or roads or airplanes, but every convenience store sells pocket-sized devices that can transform living creatures into pure energy and store them.

One thing I thought of is Pokemon like Alakazam, which are said to have 5000 IQ. Now part of that might be the overactive imagination of 10-year-old "scientists" who write the Pokedex entries, but it's worth noting that there aren't a lot of trainers in the game that have Alakazams. What if there are all these pockets of super-advanced technology popping up all over the world just due to the collaboration between scientifically-inclined humans and superintelligent pokemon, so they're suddenly capable of amazing technological feats without any of the infrastructure that it would seem to require?

Also, if you managed to 'link' one pokemon with teleport to a land-based pokecenter and another to the ship's pokecenter, you could have access to fresh fruits and shit too
Or maybe just a few sailors left behind and a few on board to provide emergency provisions without finding a way to trick teleport

Meant it more as "Fuck that sea, it's full of nothing but tentacruel and gyarados and those bastards will swarm us", and "People try to get up those mountains, but there are too many strong pokemon there for anyone weaker than the Elite Four to dare find a path" by smaller. They provide plenty of resources, true, but pokemon also create more dangers they have to face.

It started as Vanille only because touch fluffy moth, then Viol's was chosen and /vp/ wanted a masculine one, and to complete the fire/water/grass Teej's was chosen last.

I suggested Empoleon because he's a dapper gent and there was some moaning about Viol being portrayed cross-dressing/as a sissy too often

And, really, Empoleon is one of the most dapper pokemon
I could have suggest Pangoro for an even more masculine feeling

Personally, it's s little odd to me that either of the twins would go full on lewd. I watched them get kicked out at 10, they'll always be naive and innocent to me. Kings cup was well written, but I don't really see anyone the follow up to that being "Hey let's fuck." I'd say since the writing trend is that she's trying to figure out her feelings, doing the horizontal monster mash isn't really trying to figure anything out. Especially since it's both of the twins going, writing Viol out of existence just to write some lewd feels kind of out of place. Drunk was already done, not sure how else you'd do it. Why not let an innocent girl have a good first formal dance experience instead of something she might regret afterwards?

Just my two cents though, I certainly don't speak for everyone

Well, let's be honest here, Vanille's not exactly innocent. She's got that unabashed fascination with pokemon breeding. She's not stupid, she knows how that stuff works. I don't disagree that it shouldn't necessarily lead to "Lets make people-mon eggs", but I think the real shit should come from the exploration of why she would be curious about that sort of thing. Sorting out how she feels is far more interesting than any actual sexual activity. Hell, you could just fade to black and leave it up to the reader's imagination how far they went.

I'm going to be perfectly frank. I've written romantic stories, and I've written unabashed smut. Smut is boring. It's the same ol' in-and-out in a new description of position. Descriptions of emotion and pleasure are utterly pointless without context of the two's or more relationship. That's what gives the action meaning. I honestly don't think there's enough there on the end of romantic context to support going past 3rd base. But with all that said, exploration of sexuality is still important since that's what Vanille is curious about, so the trick is to get a little lewd to help give weight to the romantic content, without being ridiculously lewd and losing all meaning.

It's a balance.

Viol needs character development. It's a natural mentor position.

That's kind of a loaded question. It was pretty well written and very well received, saying you want it stricken comes of as overly prude, so that's off the table.

Personally I don't have any issue with it. It was a good amount of awkward realism. I don't think any part of it needs to be addressed for now. Just the right amount of lewd without making her done slut. The whole thing started with Teej offering to have some fun at the ball, not bump uglies. Maybe something down the road, this while thing with you guys was/is good fun. Hopefully next time one of these rolls around I'll git gud enough to draw our tans even if you guys would rather go with one if the more popular boards

Just saying, taking parts of existing sprites is more craftwork than art. It's much easier to take something and rework it than do it yourself wholly.

You haven't even fixed black outlines on the recolors (this much contrast on Viol's legs), I suspect because just swapping it for another color altogether makes it look bad on the others. On the other hand, the purple parts on Van and hair looks very distinctly drawn on, with floating pixel in corner [!] and lack of shading (socks) or defined outline altogether - hair, shirt hem, teej's sleeve.
Just saying I agree with his opinion of it being shoddily made. You can make it better in time for the ball.

Dude, that was the complaint. That these are just recolors, and not particularly competent ones at that. As >>21502716 said, the colors don't match the sprite, especially Vanille's legs.

It's nice that you tried, but they still need to be fixed up, even for recolors. If you want true OC, you need to start working on sprite work. Go to /sage/ and take a look at their sprites and their trainer artwork. Don't just recolor that either. Try to learn how they are constructed on that scale and what makes something on it look like a real person or outfit.

Not that guy, but /jp/ was suggested as a board to ask, and despite being the second or third choice on every poll, the people (or person) who supported it kept posting saying "So when are we going to invite /jp/?" or "I made a post in the drawthread so they can make an invitation to /jp/". Even when we first decided we'd ask /cm/ someone said they made a thread on /jp/ and got mad that it was deleted before they got a response, which I guess killed any drive to ask /cm/ since we waited a bit to see if /jp/ would respond anyways. After that I think people just kinda drowned them out when /tg/ became an option. They weren't as bad as the /mlp/ shitposter on /tg/, but they came across as a bit pushy.

Alright, it's done. It's fucking finished, and now I hate you all and want to die. Don't worry though I don't REALLY hate you all or want to die, I'm just fucking exhausted because I just spent the last two night up writing this fucking story because I knew if I didn't, I wouldn't get it out in time so I could write a cute and possibly somewhat lewd after-party story.
