Feeling a sudden streak of boldness hit her, Serena speaks up and says something so controversial that Mewtwo is cut off mid-monologue. He pauses and turns around, a questionable gaze burning in his eyes.

Serena isn't sure if he needs it repeated to him or if he genuinely didn't hear, either way, she speaks up again and reiterates her words.

>--THE FIELDS OUTSIDE THE UNKNOWN DUNGEON--
Everyone is clad in tinfoil hats in an effort to overthrow Mewtwo X and protect Pokemon Village from being destroyed by his wrath, the reason being is that tinfoil hats are known to disrupt psychic powers and concentration.

The hats are all each neatly folded and crafted to resemble cute little sailboats, but their purposes are far greater than their appearance leads to believe. The hats aren't the only thing being worn either, most of the villagers are also sporting makeshift armor made out of pots, pans, and trash can scraps--anything to protect them from Mewtwo's power.

Unable to ditch your trusty red cap behind, you simply wrap it up in tinfoil, and as you follow Mewtwo Y to the ominous Unknown Dungeon, you look back and see the determined look on the faces making up your own personal little squadron of guardians. Shit is really about to go down.

A) Proceed to internally monologue about the hearts of these little munchkins.
B) "Mewtwo Y... I have one last trick up my sleeve.."
C) Take out Serena's hat.

Mewtwo X however, encounters a glaring issue that he can't directly pinpoint due to the smoke blocking his view. For some reason, his spoon refuses to bash into you like it did before, in fact, it almost seems like there's some kind of resistance.

Kicking away that stupid wheelchair, you stand up and continue to block Mewtwo's spoon with Hexcalibur held tightly in your hands. The legendary hero's mouth is unwillingly taped shut so that his usual spiel can't interfere with the burst of shounen passion you're feeling right now.

"I told you... I told you over and over and you refused to listen, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO HURT THESE POKEMON ANYMORE!"

Mewtwo X flinches out of sheer unbelievable, his push in the struggle slightly weakening.

[WHAT? HOW DO YOU STAND AS IF IT WERE NOTHING?!?!?]

"Who else!? I called in a favor. You aren't the only one with psychic powers here!"

Mewtwo X growls, and tries to regain his strength, [I-IMPOSSIBLE! I SHALL DESTROY YOU REGARDLESS! YOU'VE BEEN A THORN IN MY SIDE LONG ENOUGH!]

When X/Y came out there was a copypasta unrelated to this story about Serena tying up her neighbor (presumably Calem) and raping him repeatedly causing the sound "THUD THUD THUD" to echo in the room. Nate made a reference to it by making it some kind of upper Sycamore pelvic thrust technique which became an issue later because some readers kept trying to force it as the solution to every problem.

In the end, Noctowl is the one who defeats the final doppelganger with a wise man's Air Slash. After taking it out, he perches atop your tin hat and hoots at the ongoing duel above the ground, "Hoooo hooo whooom! It's all up to her now! I hope she has the strength to prevail!"

A) "She has to, she knows she has by her side now!"
B) Congratulate the villagers on a massacre well-done.
C) "Think we have a chance at rescuing my girl now?"
D) "Hope her reviving my legs didn't take up too much of her power.."

As soon as he's free, Dedenne scurries and tackles you to the ground, you still had no idea he was even gone in the first place, but whatever. In the end the situation resolved itself.

The little ham-ham isn't the only one that pays you any affection, though. In a similar manner, Serena abruptly rushes at you for the chance to give you a short, but sweet embrace, her arms tightly wrapping around your waist.

You are left dumbfounded, and as she reels back, she darts her gaze elsewhere and twiddles her fingers. With burning ears, she mumbles, "A-Ah.. Sorry, it's just..I-I was beginning to miss your company is all. Don't look too into it."

"De ne ne!"

You get up off the ground and offer her a hand, "Heh, if you say so, guess that makes the both of us then. I'm glad you're alright but we'll have to catch up later, those two are still duking it out up there.."

A) Stay quiet and watch the scene unfold.
B) Preach more words of shounen wisdom to the two.
C) Serena speaks directly to Mewtwo X.

Funny story about that. I didn't really read these threads back then and I had popped in randomly and saw that choice. Blonde hair is my favorite, so I picked that and left without giving it another thought. A few months later when I got into this story I was reading past chapters to catch up. If I recall correctly the blonde hair choice only won by one vote.

His voice drops considerably, he is still trying to comprehend what she's just told him. It hasn't fully sunk in yet, [W-What.. Alice.. What do you mean? Tell me!]

"Do not call me by that name!" she exclaims, then drops her voice as well, "Mewtwo, you have a strong heart, I know it. There is no denying it. To have a friendship that bold is proof enough of that. As savage as you are, you have your reasons, and that's why you're so passionate about your beliefs, as unethical as they seem. But that's just it, therein lies the issue, your heart is too strong! That's the real problem here, your heart is blinding you because it wants to believe that your longing search has come to an end!"

With a flick of her wrist, she reveals the truth to him.

"I AM NOT ALICE! As much as you want to believe it, it's not true, you have been mistaken from the start. I may resemble her, I may sound like her, everything about her may be identical to me, but the only person I am is myself! And no one shall tell me otherwise!"

The flinch and heartbreak that follows manages to stall Mewtwo X long enough for Mewtwo Y to land a counterattack.

Further emphasizing the point of ultimate realization, Mewtwo Y uses Thunder and sends a shocking bolt of lightning down on her counterpart, severely electrocuting him and nailing paralysis as well. Now he has no choice but to stay suspended in place.

When Thunder subsides, Mewtwo X is left steaming, he stares deeply into the palm of his hands, reminiscing about his faint memories of the past, he then compares the face in those memories to the girl in front of him.

[I... I don't understand! Tell me this is a game, Alice! I-It has to be, you look exactly like her, you're so similar, practically identical, and yet...]

Serena shakes her head, "I'm afraid it's not a game. You may think that I'm her, but I'm not. The girl you spent time with all those years ago is long gone--"

[NO!]

"She is not coming back."

[No! I won't believe it! She's right in front of me!]

"It's time to let go of your past and move on, not just Alice, but about everything that happened to you! I shall tell you now--you will never be able to get over your loathing of humans until you get over Alice!" she proclaims, "Your loathing of them continues to thrive to this day because you are convinced that she is the only one who cared about you out of all of them!"

The waifu is really laying down the law here.
