Hey /vp/ i'd like to share some theoretical results on type synergy. Yesterday I started working on a battlespot teambuilding algorithm. Right now I'm EXCLUSIVELY analyzing types and their "synergy", this does not yet include abilities like levitate, etc.

Pic related is what I've calculated to be the best offensive sets of 6 type combinations (or 3 dual type pokemon). An example of a combination for the first line (electric, ice, fighting, ground, fighting, ghost) could be (Mamoswine, regular Rotom, Hawlucha). "Score" is the number of types that receive super effective STAB damage from one of the offensive types. Remember that there are 18 types in total

Continuing with my example, a team consisting of Mamoswine, Hawlucha, and Regular Rotom hit 17 types for stab super effective damage (Note: fairy is not hit for super effective in this case). Also, no 3 pokemon can hit all 18 types for STAB super effective damage!

Do you guys think this information is useful?
